BER Airport to Berlin City Centre: Which Transfer Option Suits You?
Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) is Berlin's only airport. It lies in Schönefeld, about 25 km south-east of the city centre, so after landing you still have a real journey ahead of you. Here is how the main options compare – and when a pre-booked transfer is the better choice.
Option 1: Train and S-Bahn
Regional trains and the S-Bahn connect BER with the city. They are a good choice if you travel light, know your connection and your hotel is close to a station. With several suitcases, children or a late-night arrival, changing trains and walking the last part to your address quickly becomes tiring.
Option 2: Taxi from the rank
Taxis wait outside the terminal, but you may have to queue at busy times, and the final fare depends on the meter – traffic on the A113 or the city motorway makes the ride more expensive.
